Interns at the Miller Garden
The Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Garden hosts two one-year internships. Positions open in early summer (typically early July) with some flexibility to accommodate applicants’ schedules. Both internships are part time, approximately 20 hours per week. The primary focus is on garden maintenance, but there are opportunities to work with the plant accession database and in the garden’s small nursery. Interns work with a very experienced garden staff and learn about specialized care of rare and unusual plants and detailed gardening techniques.
The Miller Garden is a three-acre garden with an exceptional collection of woody and herbaceous plants. The facilities include a small greenhouse, an alpine house, cold frames, lathe house and a nursery to support garden operations.
