Seasons in the Garden

GALLERY

WINTER

Although the garden is closed to visitors during the winter, interest abounds in the strong structural framework that comes by years of careful pruning. Trees and shrubs selected for their interesting bark and elegant branching habits create a visual display that is particularly showy during one of our occasional snowfalls. The first Galanthus, or snowdrops, flower in the late throes of autumn and peak in early February, in the company of several winter-flowering shrubs.
