EPIMEDIUMS

Nearly 200 species and selections of Epimedium can be found at the Miller Garden. Long known from a rather small selection of very tough shade-loving garden plants, the opening of China has provided a rich flow of spectacular new species leading to an explosion of new selections and hybrids in Japan, Europe and the United States. Charming spider-like flowers often give way to interestingly shaped, richly colored foliage. Our goal is to evaluate these species and selections and to recommend the best for Northwest gardens.
